Almost 800 children drown in the U.S. every year.
Two thirds of these deaths occur during May through August.
Parents think they will hear drowning but drowning is silent. Drowning is quick. Watching your child in the water is your responsibility is not the lifeguard. A lifeguards job is to enforce rules, scan, rescue and resuscitate.
